Outbound Orders

Petals offers a number of methods of receiving orders from the system that others have entered. The present range is provided here. Other options might be possible so please contact us with any questions. hq@petalsnetwork.com .

Outbound Order Options:

Fax

Petals can fax orders to you as they come into the system. If orders come in while your business is closed, we will send you a bulk fax as we close our business then single faxes throughout your day as orders enter the system.

Online printouts

You can collect orders to you from the "Outstanding Tasks" option in the control centre. You have the option of printing the orders one by one, 3 at a time per page or 4 at a time per page.

Faxable order printout

If you fax orders from PWW out to your members, we can arrange for our downloads to you to be in a format suitable for faxing to your members without retyping. You provide the format for the fax, the exchange rate you want to use and any fees and charges you want to deduct for your own fees.

When you print your orders, they will come out one per page in a faxable format that saves you the effort of re-typing the information.

Web Service XML

Petals can send orders to you using XML to a web service API.

This method uses the same XML data format as for you sending to us.  This data format is outlined in more detail in the inbound orders section of this site.

NOTE: 24 September 2010 When you receive from Petals, the <order> tag in the samples in the inbound section of this manual is replaced with <ufo>.  In the next edition, we expect this will be standardized to one tag name rather than the two.

Under this scenario, Petals will PUSH the data to your nominated URL using a POST command.  This means you don't have to regularly poll our system to see if there are any orders.  You can return any information you wish from our upload to you though the preferred response would be a Status Record (type 2) as described here

Petals can insert any password you wish to provide in the password data field of the XML order.

For testing purposes, Petals can continue to send you orders with current method and also send the same order in parallel to your test server until you are satisfied with the transmission.

Daily Summary

Petals will normally send you a fax each working day listing the orders sent and received by you in the period so you can reconcile that against your records so you don't miss any orders.
